Better late than never
Finally getting around to Christmas pictures. Let's see how much I can remember.
Clearly, this picture has nothing to do with Christmas. It's just cute because Soph started to "pose" for pictures and say "cheese" when the camera comes out...very cute.
We went to the Riverwoods one night before Christmas and they had a whole Santa workshop/carriage ride set up. Not bad for free...
The fam on the carriage ride. Not the best picture, but hey, it was bumpy.
All of the family at Jeff's mom's house for her Christmas party. She always spoils us. The kids had a great time.
Sophie is IN LOVE with this doll that Grandma Jaylene gave her!
Daddy found time to make a snowman with Chance one evening (one of the neighbor girls showed up as well.)
The kiddos on Christmas Eve in their coordinating outfits.
Christmas Eve pajamas. We've never done that before, and I'm not sure it will become a tradition necessarily, but Chance loves his new jammies.
Sophie loves, loves, loves her baby doll stroller! She pushes it around all the time.
Chance has this habit of shoving as many toys as possible down his pants so he can easily transport toys from his bedroom to the toy room. So random.
Grandma Joanne gave Chance this Apron/Chef hat set. He loves to cook with mom.
I swear I had a picture of Chancey with his favorite gift...his "Santa" gift -- a Batcave! He loves playing with it. And I tried uploading some new family photos, but it keeps giving me an error...so TBC on that one.
As for an update, the kids are good. I'm still struggling with trying to give my kids the attention they need while also getting things done on the days I'm home with them. Laundry, dishes, dinner, etc seem never-ending. I know I need to just chill and spend more time with the kids and yet the daily chores...along with tennis-watching (yes...the Australian Open is on right now) seem to suck up too much energy.
Sophie is talking a ton now. She is definitely hitting the toddler, terrible (well, almost) twos. She used to be my easy child...Ha ha. She can definitely be whiney and needy at times, but so cute as well. She's so busy and curious. She loves books and just talking in general. Much like her brother.
Chance keeps busy as well. Sadly, he knows way too much about how to run the tv...and the iPhone. He says the funniest things of course. He saw tennis on the first night and covered is eyes and threw his head back dramatically and said "Noooo....not tennis. I hate this show". He needs constant reminding that Sophie is still little and can't wrestle with him. He is a Sunbeam now at church and seriously loves going to class. I just can't believe it. Growing up too fast.
I used to not be a big proponent of New Year's Resolutions. I thought they were silly and contrived. But, I've come to realize that was because I was lazy. And I had to tell myself that so I didn't feel depressed about the fact that I had no discipline and couldn't stick to it. Well, times have changed. We all know about last year's resolution - get healthy, lose weight, look more put together, etc. Check. Did that. So I had to ask myself what I could challenge myself with this year. Running. Yeah...that's a good one. So, here I am, attempting to run though I despise it. I'm doing it, slowly but surely and have even signed myself up for a 5k but I have to ask myself why? What am I trying to prove? I don't look forward to it, don't love it and yet I feel compelled to do it. Maybe I should think things out before I challenge myself. Next time something intellectual as opposed to physical?

Chance and Sophie are starting to look so much alike. Okay.. baby is here and now (or maybe in a month) it is time for me to get my butt in gear!!
Looks like such fun. We always enjoy the updates. Keep challenging yourself; but, hopefully challenge yourself to do something you will enjoy? xo!
Sophie and Chance are so adorable! Good for you with the running thing. I know this makes me sound like I'm 50, but every time I run it just hurts my knees too much. I'm always impressed for people who are good runners. Go you!
